Two great nights at Northwich and Pelsall have put us in high spirits for the forthcoming festive season. The band will be playing at a private ceilidh on 6th December and probably also short spots at the Raven Folk Club on 7th and 14th December, followed (definitely!) by the Raven Christmas bash on SATURDAY 20th DECEMBER. Mark will be absent from most of these dates as he is touring with The Bad Shepherds, a marriage made in heaven for a man named Woolley performing on “The Lost Sheep tour” as it has been christened. Cue a stream of dreadful ovine puns at recent Full House gigs. Shaun the Sheep is currently Mark’s favourite TV show.
Don’t forget to watch out for our other activities - The Time Bandits featuring the splendid Mr Jones are very active at present, and Nick and Dave will be performing further dates in 2009 as part of Roy Clinging’s “A Poor Man’s Heritage”. Chris meanwhile continues his exploits as sound man extraordinaire and studio engineer to the stars.
A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Back in action! Another good night at the Boar’s head in Middlewich last Saturday with a small but enthusiastic crowd - some notable absences possibly due to the competing beer festival elsewhere in the town that night. So people were absent in a noble cause! Mark was also absent having become “confused” about his holiday dates - let’s just leave it at that - but it was good to have him back in the fold for an impromptu 5-piece session at the Cross Keys folk night on Sunday. We’re at Northwich and in the Midlands in November and hope to see some familiar faces there. The ceilidh band is also active again after a quiet patch; we don’t advertise the private functions but please don’t forget we love playing for dancing and with Rusty Mahone (and occasionally DJ) added to the line-up, it’s a big and bouncy sound.
In between Full House gigs, don’t forget you can find Nick, Chris and Ian at the Cross Keys in Chester most Sundays, with Mark and Dave joining in from time to time. Meanwhile Chris is doing occasional gigs with Rusty and DJ, and Dave will be gigging with Bram Taylor at the Wrexham Folk Club on 6th November and at the same venue with Yardarm on 11th December.

We had a great time last weekend at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention, Chris & Dave appearing with The Family Mahone. Nick was also brought up on stage to guest on “Cheese & Beer” and “Jack Lantern” playing Mandola.

Following the success of last year’s debut event, Chester & South Clwyd branch of CAMRA are again holding an Autumn beer festival at the Guildhall in Chester, and we are very pleased to be involved. We’re pencilled in to do sets Friday and Saturday evenings and an acoustic session Saturday lunchtime.
There are also some gigs starting to appear on the list for next year with a couple of festivals also in the pipeline. More will be added to the gigs page as they are confirmed.

Here we are, back on line after a complete site overhaul, unfortunately taking somewhat longer than we would have hoped. Since the last news on the site we’ve been busy at Chester, Wirral and Middlewich Folk Festivals, playing some very enjoyable sessions and getting good audience reactions for the 5-piece band. One of the highlights was playing a new venue for us, the Woodman Folk club at Kinswinford, who seemed to like what they heard. (review on their web site)
Our old mate Ken Prydderch captured on video some of the tunes and songs we played at Chester, including several from the Sandy Denny tribute set in which we were joined by Sharon Murray, Katrina Turner and Chris While on vocals. They’re all there on YouTube so follow the links from our “In Action” page to get the Full House experience direct to your computer! We’re playing again in Middlewich at the Boar’s head “Live and Local” night on 5th July, then taking a break until the Autumn, when we’ll hope to see as many as possible of you at Oswestry, Middlewich again, Northwich, Pelsall and the Raven Christmas bash.
